Olusola Afolabi
Olusola joined Cummins in 2008 as a Controls Engineer working on the 6.7L and the 9.8L product line. He then went on to work as an Aftertreatment Performance Integration Engineer in high horsepower (now PSBU) and led the newly formed System Performance Integration team before ultimately becoming the Technical Project Leader for the QSK 60 in the mobile-off-highway and locomotive market. In 2017, he joined Cummins Gulf (now CCSNA) as a Program Manager for the QTR transmission, Tier4 QSK 50L Drilling Power Module and Tier4 QSK 50L Frac Package products before assuming his current role as Director – Systems and Product Architecture in Power Systems. In addition, he had responsibility for Simulation Based Product Development and the productivity efficiency sub-workstream under the engineering complexity in the PSBU transformation. Olusola is currently the Director of Product Solutions and Engineering for the Distribution Business Unit.
Sola has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Saint Augustine’s University (USA); a master’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (USA); a Master of Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (USA); and is a graduate of the Cummins Cornell University (USA) systems engineering master’s program. He is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and a talent scout for product validation and design functions because of his passion for developing and building high performing teams.
A native of Nigeria, he now lives in Houston, TX (USA) with his wife, Adetutu, and two children. Sola enjoys playing soccer, reading, eating food from other cultures and traveling.
